New research indicates that folic acid may suppress allergic reactions and lessen the severity of allergy and asthma symptoms. Scientists from the Johns Hopkins Children's Center say the results are further evidence that folate can help regulate inflammation. Folate is the naturally occurring form of folic acid, or vitamin B9.
