Research conducted by Dr. Paul Verhoeff and others at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, Canada, has found evidence suggesting that certain disease-causing bacteria and viruses, such as a pneumonia bacteria and viruses such as Herpes Simplex (a cause of cold sores), may pose a risk of setting off Alzheimer's Disease.
