A study by Effie M. Mitsis, PhD of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and slated for publication in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry shows that, although face-to-face interviews are most desirable for evaluation of cognitive abilities of seniors to diagnose dementia, phone interviews can be useful when necessary.
