A new high blood pressure treatment pill, Exforge HCT, combines amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide into one small pill. The FDA has recently approved its use in treating hypertension after a clinical trial that included more than 2,000 patients. Pharmaceutical company Novartis has commissioned the drug and expects a quick roll-out.
