According to researchers at The Medical College of Wisconsin, African Americans are at an increased risk of high blood pressure and blood vessel disease due to the hormone aldosterone. The relatively high aldosterone levels in African Americans resulted in lower heart output, blood vessel stiffness and reduced kidney blood flow.
