According to the "Simplified Treatment Intervention to Control Hypertension" (STITCH) study, patients treated will less and lower doses of high blood pressure medication have more control over the condition. The study tracked the disease progression of 2,104 patients with high blood pressure at 45 family practices in southwestern Ontario, Canada.
