Garry Hall was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1000, but he qualified for and swam in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. He narrowly missed qualifying for the 2008 Olympics; he now says that he won't be trying for international swimming again - fund raising for a diabetes cure is more important.
