Angular Cheilitis - All You Need To Know

Angular cheilitis is a chronic skin condition characterized by painful, itchy cracks in the corner of the mouth. It can result in Staphylococcal (bacterial) or Candidal (fungal) infections leading to shallow crusts and bleeding ulcers. It is most common among the elderly and people with other skin conditions such as eczema. B-vitamin deficiency, anemia, malnutrition, and a weakened immune system also cause angular cheilitis.
