Results from a comprehensive childhood asthma study carried out by the Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) show that improvements gained from taking steroid drugs do not continue when the drugs are stopped. The study also showed that many children 'grew out' of their asthma -- in fact their asthma improved as their airways got bigger.
