The U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey included 2,498 kids from age 8 to 17. Researchers measured their activity level with motion sensors and found two-thirds had bursts of physical activity that lasted less than five minutes. Even in gym class, they were inactive a large portion of the time.
