In 2004, Connie Culp was shot in the face by her husband, Thomas Culp. The accident left Ms. Culp's face seriously disfigured. Five years later, Ms. Culp becomes the first patient to receive a face transplant in the United States. Here are simulated and real before-and-after photos.
