Ashley Scheurer, a graduate at the Illinois College of Optometry, traveled to Honduras in February with Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) along with about 80 other students, doctors, pharmacologists and others. SVOSH provides eye exams and treatments to those around the world who can't afford them. It was a sobering experience that brought home how fortune people are in the U.S.
