Eczema sufferers in the UK have a new preventative treatment option. PROTOPIC ointment (tacrolimus monohydrate), already approved for treatment of moderate and severe eczema, is now also approved for twice-weekly application to prevent flare-ups and prolong flare-free periods. Studies show that 40 percent of patients using the treatment remained flare-free for at least a year.
