The biologic agent efalizumab, most commonly used to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, may be effective in the treatment of severe atopic dermatitis. Dermatologist Roman Minano, M.D., says that efalizumab may be considered when other therapeutic approaches have failed. A case study is outlined in which efalizumab has totally cleared a patient's atopic dermatitis.
