It shows up on store shelves right after Christmas: Valentine's Day swag. We're talking rows upon rows of heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, stacks of mushy cards, and enough red roses to sink a battleship.
Some romantics believe that Valentine's Day is a true love fest. To them, the day serves as the perfect opportunity to express love to those they care about most. Other more pragmatic folks see it as no more than a hyped-up holiday and a way for the retail industry to rake in the dough. Some Valentine avoiders believe that love is something you should share year round, not just on February 14.
