Will You Reveal Who You Really Are?

Psychoanalyst Erik H. Erikson has described learning to trust as the earliest human conflict--one that even babies must grapple with. As we near adulthood, this conflict comes to envelop questions of physical intimacy, and later, falling in love. For some of us, however, the dilemma persists, and shapes whether we become someone who is open to others or someone who is emotionally closed.

In our fast-paced society, self-disclosure isn't always easy. But despite the fact that it might be an unsettling experience, it's a risk we must take in order to have meaningful interpersonal relationships.
